
Equilibrator installed in the RV Côte de la Manche

The equilibrator we use at EPOC is similar to the one of
Frankignoulle et al. (2001): a vertical plexiglas tube filled with marbles through which water is flowing while equilibrating with a closed air circuit.
We connect the air circuit either to a LiCOR 7000 IR gas analyser for CO2
or, at some of our study sites, to an INNOVA IR-Photoacoustic gas analyser
to measure CH4 at the same time. An exemple of row data obtained with this system is shown below. See also a

Diel changes in water and air pCO2 recorded in the Loire River, Nov. 2005 (Abril and Maro, unpublished). At that time, the
river was a source of atmospheric CO2.
