Floating Chambers

Chamber with LiCor
Our system that records pCO2 in the chamber every 15 sec.
We use different designs of chambers, depending on the environments we are working on and the technique we use to analyse gas concentrations. Chambers are designed taller in estuaries than in lakes. The wall of the chambers extend few centimeters into the water. Gas concentrations are measured either on samples taken at regular intervals or continuously with a gas analyser. Measurements are always performed while drifting to avoid the creation of artificial turbulence and enhance the gas flux. Deployments may vary from 5 min to 1 hour.
