Résumé
A great proportion of global diversity is found in Amazonia. Understanding how these highly-diverse systems have responded to past environmental change has recently become crucial as we observe the effects of current climate change. During this talk, the late-Pleistocene history of the western Amazonia will be presented in the light of pollen records from the region. These paleoecological records present the history of the vegetation at different altitudes and allow to track individual species migrations during the last glacial maximum. On that basis, the talk will conclude by drawing some predictions on the future of western-Amazonian biodiversity under the most conservative IPCC global-change scenario.
